Sadler’s Wells started life as a mineral spring, discovered in 1683 by Richard Sadler in the grounds of his music house. Audiences came for the ‘miraculous healing properties’ of the well, but stayed for the entertainment.
The well dried up but the performances didn’t. Shakespeare, vaudeville and opera drew crowds for hundreds of years. And in 1925, when Lilian Baylis took charge, dance became a more regular feature. Baylis held the belief that ‘great art should belong to everybody’ – a sentiment that still guides Sadlers Wells Theatre today.

Rehearsals are WEDNESDAYS, from Wed, 10th Jan - Wed, 27th March. There is a full day rehearsal on Saturday, 13th April and the show is on Sunday, 14th April at 6pm in London.
There are NO MINIMUM TICKET FEES - you can come and watch the show if you wish but you do not have to - we will take care of the day! In the show the performers will take to the stage to showcase their two, 5 minute dance tracks especially prepared for the event. They will get to be backstage like true professional performers!

The cost of the project includes rehearsals, coach travel on the day of the show to and from Sadler's Wells (although you can take your child home with you if you wish) and specialist costumes purchased especially for the event. The total cost is £175 per child which can be paid in full or instalments.
This is a primarily a dance performance show, although there will be 2-4 vocalists who will sing live chosen from the troupe once rehearsals begin.
